The Farmingdale Union Free School District is a K-12 suburban district straddling the Nassau and Suffolk County border on Long Island. Parents, administration, teachers and support staff focus their energies on creating opportunities in a student-centered environment that stimulates critical thinking for the 21st Century learner through a rigorous, integrated curriculum.
 
With 5,500 students across six schools, the Board of Education’s goal is to develop our students into independent thinkers and problem solvers.
 
The ideal candidate for employment in Farmingdale will demonstrate a commitment to students as intelligent consumers of content by fostering learning opportunities that support students as self-reflective regulators of their learning,  providing meaningful and purposeful feedback, and addressing social emotional learning.  Candidates must be committed to their own continuous growth in professional knowledge and pedagogy and possess a willingness to collaborate with parents, teachers, students and administrators to maximize learning for all.
