Guidance
The primary function of the Guidance Department in the Farmingdale School District is to help each and every student find a learning environment that will maximize his or her potential. Certified School Counselors are available in our middle and high schools to help your child through interviews, consultations with teachers and parents, group guidance and small group counseling. Interviews may be concerned with educational, vocational, social or ethical guidance. An interview may be initiated by a student, parent, teacher, or counselor.

January 14, 2021 FHS Guidance Presentation: College Admissions Overview

Counselors will be available at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. to review the information in the slides and to answer your questions.
This workshop is a preliminary overview of the college search and application process. This spring counselors will be meeting (virtually) with students to help them start the college search process. These meetings are designed to prepare a preliminary list of post secondary choices that will be discussed in the individual Junior College Meetings that you and your child are invited to attend starting March 15, 2021. In addition, we would like to share some resources (see below) that you may find helpful.
