Mr. Hulse hosted a fun PJ Movie Night for his 6th Grade Lunch Chorus on Friday, November 14. More than 80 students and 20 parent chaperones attended! Students kicked off the evening in the East Cafeteria, where they enjoyed snacks and time to socialize before heading to the auditorium to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The night was filled with laughter, music, and fun. Mr. Hulse looks forward to hosting another movie night for the Mixed Chorus this spring!

What an exciting night at Howitt Middle School. The PTA’s Family Fun Night pitted staff against students in a friendly competition, and the students clinched the victory with a score of 25-23! Everyone had a blast with relay races, free-throw contests, musical chairs, and brain teasers.

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Howitt Middle School National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) officially inducted 133 new members on Monday, November 17, 2025!

Howitt Middle School Principal Mike Gavalas spoke passionately about the dedication and hard work that these young individuals have shown, emphasizing how they embody the spirit and values that the school strives to cultivate. "Each of these students has demonstrated remarkable commitment and perseverance," Principal Gava las remarked. "They are leaders in their own right, continuously inspiring their peers and contributing positively to our school community."

The induction ceremony was a wonderful celebration of these students' dedication to academic excellence and their commitment to the five pillars of NJHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Citizenship, and Character.

The Howitt Middle School Kickline team held its first practice of the winter season today. Coaches Bonilla and Kanfer are thrilled with the team's growing popularity and excited to welcome all the talented new recruits to the squad. The team will be performing at upcoming Howitt basketball games!

The Howitt Middle School Student Council was busy after school creating these spooktacular Lollipop Ghosts! They'll be delivered during homeroom on Halloween to fellow students, teachers, and staff!

These ghostly greetings help fund the fun! All the money collected goes directly toward planning several upcoming events, including the Winter Wonderland gathering on December 16.
